There is a wide variety of inspection experience when it comes to Home Inspectors. The expertise that is developed from doing many inspections is very important. The Inspection process can involve both objective and subjective judgments. When it comes to subjective judgment, an experienced inspector can more accurately identify significant defects which require further evaluation by a specialist or costly repairs, as opposed to non-significant defects that are common and do not require further evaluation or immediate repairs.
An inexperienced inspector can sometimes cause confusion and or panic from inaccurate judgment or poor explanations when describing the real conditions. This can cause the deal to be “killed “unnecessarily or cause unnecessary repair costs. The more experienced Home Inspector will charge more for his/her services, but it is well worth it for all parties in order to avoid unnecessary problems either before the transaction is completed or afterward.
